Room 06 Sophie Christenson*
(King bed; second floor main house; jetted tub, shower combo; no pets) At the stairway landing take a right to find this only room off the east hallway. The stand alone character of The Sophie Christenson Room extends to its enlarged bathroom accommodating both a shower and full six foot Jacuzzi tub. The views in this corner of the main house are distinct as well, toward the harbor on the east; overlooking the gazebo/gardens to the south. Coastal pastels in the room tones and tiling anticipate warm glows of the sun's rise over Grays Harbor. Be there to greet the dawn from this serene vantage, in the spacious comfort of your king size bed. * The Sophie Christenson was a transport schooner owned and operated by Benjamin Armstrong who built the main house for his wife, Minnie, and their seven children. Known as a "bark," the Sophie Christenson carried lumber from the Armstrong mill to markets in Alaska. From window views on this harbor facing side of the house the Armstrongs could see the tall ship moored at Peterson Landing on their shore.
